About Project Independence
Project Independence is a nonprofit organization based in Costa Mesa, California, dedicated to empowering adults with developmental disabilities to live, work, and thrive as valued members of their communities. For more than 45 years, we have partnered with individuals, families, employers, and the broader community to create opportunities that promote independence, dignity, and inclusion.
We believe that everyone deserves the chance to build a meaningful life – one shaped by choice, purpose, and respect. Our work is rooted in the understanding that disability is a natural part of the human experience, and that inclusive communities are stronger communities.
Project Independence is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization – TAX ID #95-3147421, and this store exists to support our charitable mission. Revenue generated from store purchases helps offset program costs, expand services, and invest in new opportunities for the individuals we support.
